There was one aspect of the back-and-forth that had people talking.Texts between Urban Meyer and agent Trace Armstrong. Meyer tells Armstrong that Zach Smith was fired for “cumulative stuff” and “I will not tell the media.” pic.twitter.com/p34CdpBZuk— Kyle Rowland (@KyleRowland) August 28, 2018There have been questions about the message from Meyer’s agent that told him two women were going to need his phone for a couple of hours.Of course, this led to rampant speculation on social media, but context is important. Sports Illustrated’s Andy Staples has provided everyone with it.Those two women are from Meyer’s legal team. They needed to go through Meyer’s phone and then hand over everything to the investigation.Deleted that last tweet because I goofed one very key word. “They” were members of Meyer’s legal team. Stuff from the phone was then turned over to Ohio State. My bad on the dumb wording on the last one. https://t.co/cye5DNcXZi— Andy Staples (@Andy_Staples) August 29, 2018So, there’s some context.
