first_imgCat Power, more formally known as Chan Marshall, has announced a new album and supporting tour—marking her tenth album to date and first release in six years, following 2012’s Sun. The new album, Wanderer, will feature 11 tracks and is due out on October 5th via Domino Records.Produced entirely by Marshall herself, Wander was written between Miami and Los Angeles over the last several years and features some of her “longtime friends and compatriots” including Lana Del Ray.According to Marshall, the new album is about “The course my life has taken in this journey–going from town to town, with my guitar, telling my tale; with reverence to the people who did this generations before me. Folk singers, blues singers, and everything in between.”Cat Power’s newly-announced tour will kick off with a festival experience at Riot Fest in September. With over 30 dates on the calendar, Cat Power will link up with The National for performances in Berkeley, CA; Philadelphia, PA; Columbia, MD; and New York, NY.You can get a glimpse of what’s to come in the video, as well as Wanderer’s tracklisting and tour dates below: Wanderer Tracklist:01.
