Snoop Dogg Remixes BadBadNotGood For New Politically Charged Music Video [Watch]

first_imgSnoop Dogg, a man who needs no introduction, recently released a music video to his remix of BadBadNotGood and Kaytranada’s collaboration, “Lavender.” Everything about the track and the video is political, with the Snoop’s verses directly addressing police shootings and the video being structured around the death of Philando Castile, a black man who was shot and killed in his car by a police officer in front of his girlfriend and four-year-old daughter despite having a gun permit, as well as a parody of the current president of the United States, Donald J. Trump, reimagined as Ronald Klump. The video is dark, but intentionally so, with Snoop telling Billboard, “I feel like it’s a lot of people making cool records, having fun, partying, but nobody’s dealing with the real issue with this f–king clown as president, and the shit that we dealing with out here, so I wanted to take time out to push pause on a party record and make one of these records for the time being.” And the video takes this idea of clowns and runs with it, with many of the actors in the video donning traditional clown makeup throughout. You can check out the video for “Lavender (Nightfall Remix)” below, courtesy of PranksVsPranks.last_img
