This position carries various duties in the departmentwith the focus on oversight of facility resources. The BroadcastingEngineer is responsible for assisting with maintenance/operation ofall broadcast equipment and systems supporting DLMD . This personassists in implementation of effective production procedures toensure our production department operates at peak efficiency. Thisposition is responsible for assisting the Chief BroadcastingEngineer in their duties as technical leader of DLMD . TheBroadcasting Engineer assists in the technical training of allstaff.Essential Responsibilities:25% – Assist in set-up, configuration, maintenance, diagnosis andoperation of broadcast systems and equipment. Assist in monitoring,testing and measurement of critical systems. Assist inadministration of network, media storage, archive and edit systemsin broadcast and production environments including televisionstudios/control rooms.25% – Management of postproduction processes and facility hardwareand software including: organizational systems for raw media andcompleted programming via LTO storage system, and JBOD library; andtest and define best practices in file distribution/conversionbased on emerging technologies and client requests; assistProducer/Directors in postproduction process by providing trainingand technical support in Avid Media Composer editing systems;organize and maintain EVO Project Share System project list, loginaccounts, and permissions.15% – Provide television and media production services includingCCU control, record/playback deck control, ingestion of programmingfootage in studio; provide expertise in remote production setupincluding use of fly-away production system and ENG -styleproductions.15% – Assist with troubleshooting equipment issues, installation ofsystem updates, maintenance of subscription services and versionupgrades, maintain A/V signal flow to campus monitors, and manageequipment inventory.10% – Assist in creation and maintenance of accurate and up-to-datedocumentation of all systems. Utilize facility and systemdocumentation to facilitate/support activities.
